The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have found new help for Tom Brady. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team reached an agreement on a one-year contract with Antonio Brown.

After Mike Evans, Chris Godwin (both cracked 1,000 receiving yards last season) and Robert Gronkowski who won three Super Bowl championships with Brady, the Buccaneers added Brown to the team's arsenal. When he was focused on football, Brown made a good pair with Brady in the New England Patriots last year, though they only played one game together.

That's why Brady pushed the Buccaneers to sign Brown and, fairly speaking, the team could use extra force at the wide receiver position. Evans was held back by an injured ankle; Godwin just recovered from a hamstring injury; Scotty Miller has been haunted by a groin/hip injury.

Bruce Arians, head coach of the Buccaneers, worked with Brown when he was offensive coordinator for two years in the Pittsburgh Steelers. Though he had previously called Brown "too much of a diva" and claimed that the team would not sign him, the Buccaneers scooped the Seattle Seahawks who was also in touch with Brown to land the 32-year-old.

Despite his trouble outside the field and absurd behaviors, Brown used to be the league's most productive wide receiver between 2013 and 2018. He was the first one in NFL history to achieve at least 100 receptions for six straight seasons. In 2015, Brown had 136 receptions in 1,834 receiving yards plus 10 touchdowns in spite of the four-game absence of the Steelers' starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Brown even had a chance to drive for MVP in 2017 if it weren't for the injury that cost him the last two games of the regular season.

In his last complete season in the league in 2018, Brown got 1,297 yards in 104 receptions and achieved league-high 15 TDs. He was banned for eight games without pay because of multiple violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy in July. The suspension will come to an end after Week 8. If he can pass the league's COVID-19 protocols, Brown may make his debut in the Buccaneers in the game against the New Orleans Saints on November 8.
