Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations announces list of achievements

The Preparatory Committee of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC) announced the major achievements of the Conference on May 24. 
Four kinds of achievements, including the release of "The 2019 Beijing Consensus of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations," the launch of cooperation initiatives, signing of relevant agreements, and release of many study reports, were announced.
Among them, the top one is the release of "The 2019 Beijing Consensus of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations,” which emphasizes the importance of mutual respect, cultural exchange, inclusivity and communication between Asian countries.
The CDAC also launched initiatives on cultural heritage protection, inter-translation of classic literature works, exchange and cooperation in film and TV products. Projects for think tank partnership, culture inclusivity and Asian cuisine and culture industry were also launched.
Other agreements signed during the CDAC include a trust fund deal for financing young scholars along the Silk Road, cooperation plan between China's State Administration for Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) and Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union(ABU), and the cooperation plan for China-Singapore, China-Argentina mass media and communication development.
The CDAC published several reports including: "Key Words to Understand China: On Governance," "Assessment Report of Asia's Role in Global Governance," a survey report on the extent to which major Asian civilizations know each other, and an Asian tourist cooperation development report.
The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations was held in Beijing, on May 15, 2019. A total of 1,352 representatives from all 47 countries in Asia, countries in other parts of the world and international organizations attended the conference under the theme "exchanges and mutual learning among Asian civilizations and a community with a shared future for Asia." The participants discussed the development of Asian civilizations, exchanged views on mutually beneficial cooperation among Asian countries, and reached extensive consensus.
