China FM: China-Kazakhstan cooperation yields fruitful results under BRI

"China understands Nursultan Nazarbayev's decision of resignation as Kazakhstan's president and is full of confidence in the prospect of the bilateral relations and cooperation between China and Kazakhstan," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said at a daily press conference on Wednesday.
Geng made the remarks after the resignation of Nazarbayev who served as Kazakhstan's president for nearly three decades.
"The acting president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is a good friend of the Chinese people," said Geng.
"The bilateral relations are showing strong momentum. China–Kazakhstan cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative has yielded fruitful results," he added.
