Three missing after oil tanker explodes off east China

A suspected explosion took place in an oil tanker in waters off of the coast of east China’s Shandong Province on Sunday, leaving three of the crew missing.
Thick smoke was seen coming from tanker “Xinglongzhou 569,” with 16 people aboard, when it was 90 nautical miles south of Shidao Island at around 5 p.m. on Sunday, according to the local transport bureau
Thirteen members of the crew were rescued, and emergency personnel are searching for the other three.
The fire has been controlled and the tanker towed away.
The incident came on the same day that a fishing boat sank in waters off east China's Zhejiang Province and another vessel collided with rocks and sank off southern Fujian Province.
