An explosion in a residential building in northern Bogota, capital city of Colombia, injured at least 26 people, including five children, on Sunday.

The blast was suspected to be the result of a gas leak, a preliminary investigation found.

Eight fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and the blaze was brought under control.

It was the second explosion reported in the capital city in one month.

On June 17, three women were killed and nine wounded after an explosive device detonated in a restroom in a busy upscale shopping center in Bogota.
