China's fourth "forest oxygen bar" list, a reference to places with plenty of trees, was recently released including 22 forest parks. CGTN will be reviewing 10 of these listed natural havens. Today, we take a look inside the Tiantangzhai National Forest Park in east China's Anhui Province.

Located on the border between Hubei Province and Anhui Province, Tiantangzhai National Forest Park is known for its diversity of wild plants, given the name of the kingdom of plants and the sea of flowers.

Along with Jinzhai County in Anhui, the mountain rises to a height of 1,729 meters. It forms the watershed between the north and south of China’s river system. The water from the north of the mountain flows to the Huaihe River and the water from the south flows to the Yangtze River. Thus visitors can see from the Tiantangzhai Peak both the central plain and southern hills of China.

Tiantangzhai is home to 1,487 species of wild plants and 634 species of animals, making it one of the seven species gene pools of China and the last primitive forest in east China.

Tiantangzhai is also known as the "Number one pass in the southeastern Yangtze River region" as the precipitous peak is a place to contend for. There are many historical sites left behind since the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368), integrated into the natural forest of Tiantangzhai, giving people a sense of the vicissitudes of history.
