China demands the relevant parties in the U.S. respect the facts and stop interfering in China’s internal affairs, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang told reporters at a news briefing on Friday.

Geng stressed that no country, organization or individual has the right to interfere in China's internal affairs, saying China’s determination to safeguard its national sovereignty remains unchanged.

Beijing says extradition bill won't affect global confidence in Hong Kong

"Since the return of Hong Kong, the policy of 'one country, two systems' and Hong Kong people administrating Hong Kong have been effectively implemented, and the rights and freedoms of Hong Kong residents have been guaranteed," Geng said.

Relevant parties should respect China's sovereignty and stop plotting chaos, Geng added.

Geng made the remarks after U.S. lawmakers on Thursday proposed legislation that would require an annual certification of Hong Kong autonomy.
