Various performers came together in the Macao Special Administrative Region for the "Spring of Haojiang River" gala. After three days of activities, the event closed on Wednesday with an impressive show.

The "Spring of Haojiang River" gala came to a climax with a series of sensational performances at the Macao Culture Center. The house was packed with more than a thousand spectators. Among them were luminaries and residents from all walks of life.

The program opened with a song and dance called "My Love for My Motherland" followed by performances of instrumental music, traditional opera, poetry and acrobatics.

Singer Bao Jianfeng said: "The song is called ‘Striding Forward.’ It’s a very apt title for the gala performance. It paints a picture of Macao's future in this time and age. We must go forward no matter what obstacles are in the way. We hope our friends in Macao will have a happier life."

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland. The show was able to stir up the audience's pride and passion for their country.

A Macao resident said: "It was a terrific show. I liked it so much. I applauded every single act from start to finish. I clapped so hard. It was exciting to see such a show on the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland. It was also a cerebration of our country’s 70th birthday. I’m so glad to be here."
