TV series "Like a Flowing River" became the biggest winner at the award ceremony of the 25th Shanghai TV Festival (STVF), which drew its curtain on Friday night.
China’s Best TV Series also grabbed the Best Director award, given to Kong Sheng and Huang Wei, with Best Adapted Screenplay going to Yuan Keping and Tang Yao, Best Supporting Actress to Tong Yao, and Best Art Direction to Shao Changyong.
The 47-episode series focuses on people who changed their lives against the backdrop of China’s reform and opening-up.

The Best Actor award went to 59-year-old Ni Dahong for his hard-to-deal-with father role in family drama "All is Well."
He's been nominated twice before for Best Supporting Actor at Magnolia Awards and Best Actor at Golden Horse Awards but went home empty-handed. The award recognized his excellent acting in numerous films and TV series in the past two decades of his performing career.
"All is Well" also nabbed the Best Supporting Actor award, which was awarded to Guo Jingfei for his role as a reckless and renegade son.

Celebrated Chinese actress Jiang Wenli won Best Actress for her role in "The Little Woman Under Zhengyang Gate."
The TV drama tells the story of a widow who struggles to run a bistro and helps people around her make money.

Li Xi, the cinematographer for Chinese traditional costume drama “The Rise of Phoenixes,” grabbed Best Cinematography, and Gao Mantang and Li Zhou took home Best Original Screenplay for their efforts in “Frontier of Love.”
“The Sound II” and “New Arrival of the Palace Museum” were the winners in the Best Variety Program category.
The doctors’ growth story “Life Matters Season II” won Best Documentary Series, and the Best Documentary award went to “I Grew Up As You Slept,” a Polish production telling the diaspora story of Belarussians.

Spain’s “Presumed Guilty” took Best Foreign TV Series, and “Das Boot” from Germany was awarded the Best Foreign TV and Miniseries.
“Zog”, an accident-prone dragon from the UK was the cartoon character that won Best Animation.
Nearly 1,000 works from 52 countries and regions signed up for this year’s Magnolia Awards, setting a record high. A total of 62 were nominated for the awards.
Juries comprising famous artists and experts from Chinese and foreign TV industries carried out the final evaluation for the Magnolia Awards in 17 categories.
