Chinese President Xi Jinping hailed the comprehensive strategic partnership with Belarus, noting that the bilateral ties are at a high level, with mutual trust and close win-win cooperation.

Xi made the remarks when meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko Friday in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, Xi called on the two countries to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen the synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Belarus' national development strategy so as to create favorable conditions for the construction of the China-Belarus industrial park, the largest foreign investment project in Belarus.

Xi also encouraged the two countries to expand people-to-people exchanges and keep China-Belarus relations moving forward.

Lukashenko echoed Xi's remarks, saying that cooperation between the two countries has yielded fruitful results and Belarus is always a firm supporter of the BRI.

Noting that the two countries have always supported each other on issues related to core interests and major concerns, Lukashenko welcomed closer coordination with China under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as well as under other multilateral mechanisms.
