Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Saturday on the sidelines of the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe. Xi said he appreciates Qatar's support for China in fighting against terrorism and extremism, adding that China is willing to strengthen coordination and collaboration with Qatar in multilateral affairs. Tamim said that Qatar firmly supports China's efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and combat terrorism.
