The white egret flower can only be found in Asia, in countries such as China, Japan and Korea. Like a real egret, the white egret flower also prefers a warm weather, and thus thrives during the summer.
The lateral lobes give the flower a distinctive shape of bird. The pure white petals spread upwards, closely resembling wings and give the flower an angelic appeal.
During the peak blooming period which falls in July and August, the clusters of this flower will resemble a group of egrets dancing and flying.
However, these beautiful flowers do not only attract fame but also disasters. Over-collection and habitat destruction are two major threats of the white egret flower. Though it has been introduced and cultivated in many places, it is considered rare in wild.
