Rescuers evacuate dozens of people from flooded south China village

Rainstorms hit a village around 2:00 a.m., causing the water level to rise in a channel in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, south China on June 16. Surging floodwaters inundated many houses in the village, with water depth in some areas reaching more than two meters. Firefighters used rubber boats to rescue villagers. As of 10:00 a.m. on June 16, the ongoing storm and flooding in China's southern part have affected 6.14 million people in eight provinces, killed 88, while 17 are still missing.
