Huawei Founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei held a dialogue session with two of the world's most prominent thinkers on Monday about some of the hot-button issues in technology.
During the dialogue, Ren said that tech cooperation is key to future prosperity, and Huawei would not give up what they are committed to due to any short-term setback.
Gai Keke, associate professor at the School of Computer Science & Technology under Beijing Institute of Technology, echoed to Ren’s comment, noting that tech cooperation is the trend, and “no one can do everything in the whole process for high tech manufacturing.”

"People need to show what and how they can contribute, especially when a new technology is emerging, a game of competition is a normal situation," Gai said, adding that most global tech giants are currently competing for the leading position in the 5G market, but cooperation would be the mainstream in the long term.
Meanwhile, the Huawei CEO reiterated that the company is willing to sit down with any government or company to sign a guarantee that the equipment has no backdoor.
"People are always afraid of things they don't know. Huawei's solution is to improve technology transparency, but that's not enough because people will still have concerns," Gai said.
The expert listed two approaches to help eliminate future concerns.
"First, we need to set up strict law and regulation to make sure both users and app owners benefit," he told CGTN.
He said the second step is to rely on technology upgrades to secure data. For example, he said technology can be used to make sure users cannot interfere with core technology and "accept a trustable third party to make sure data of users are not monitored" or misused by app owners.
