"To me, the fundamental problem is the necessity of cooperation," said Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO of the world's largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer Huawei, in a discussion with two U.S. technology gurus George Gilder and Nicholas Negroponte in Shenzhen, China on Monday.

Ren believes that the economy is globalized in the modern world and international cooperation is dispensable to the development of enterprises worldwide.

When being asked about the future of Huawei as it faces the ongoing trade war between the two world's largest economies, China and the U.S., Ren expressed the optimistic and confident opinion that "when we see those conflicts or fluctuations, we have to change the rules, instead of taking some extreme actions against it."

Creating wealth needs all the groups, including scientists and politicians, to work together to seek to win-win cooperation, according to Ren. This cooperating mode has been well developed in the EU countries in the past decades. But the environment is changing, and the wealth is being accumulated, Ren added.
