Ash spews from Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano

The Popocatepetl volcano spewed rock and sent clouds of ash into the sky.
Footage showed the outburst at 6:44 a.m. local time (12:44 p.m. GMT).
The volcano has been active in recent months, spewing out sprays of hot rock and towering clouds of ash several times.
