Three-time NBA Champion and future Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer, Dwyane Wade though retired from the league, has not fully retreated from the sport. While talking to the FIBA, the "Flash" anticipated a competitive event in China.

"It's going to be a very exciting tournament with some very intense games. China is going to be the center of the basketball world and the teams are going to give everything," said Wade.

As the champion of the previous two Basketball World Cups (World Championships), team USA are a favorite, but Wade didn't think it would be an easy ride for his team in China.

"Team USA is going to fight to keep their crown after their title in Spain five years ago. In general, the level of competitiveness has grown a lot in recent years. You have so many teams building great rosters, like Australia, Canada and Serbia, for example, that can have very good runs. The battle for the medal spots is going to be very interesting. Many teams can reach those last three spots," said Wade.

Wade played for USA at the 2006 Basketball World Championships at a time when USA only ranked No.3 at the tournament after losing to Greece in the semifinal. Two years later, Wade became a member of the USA "Redeem Team" and won the gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Wade is no stranger to this year's Basketball World Cup hosts. He came to the country multiple times when he was still playing, not to mention he has a lifetime deal with Li Ning, a leading sports manufacturer in China. The Flash believes that the World Cup will be great in China.

"China is going to be such a great host and the tournament is going to be so great. The fans, the environment, the love for basketball is very good there, and I'm sure that it's going to be a huge success both on and off the court. I know everyone in China can't wait for the start of the tournament and is excited to see their favorite players and teams. The stage is going to be great; the tournament is going to be one of the best ever," said Wade.
