Hundreds of people have been evacuated after heavy rains battered Bazhong City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Wednesday, according to local fire departments.

Flash floods and mudslides due to the downpour have cut off traffic on major roads in the region since Wednesday night.

There have been no reports of casualties so far.
