China said on Thursday that a Taliban delegation had recently visited China to discuss peace talks in Afghanistan.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang, Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban representative in Qatar, and some of his colleagues had recently concluded their China tour, during which the two sides discussed the Afghan peace process and counter-terrorism issues.
China supports people in Afghanistan resolving their problems themselves through talks, and this visit was an important part of China promoting such peace talks, he said.
Lu added that China will continue to play an active role in promoting the peaceful resolution of Afghan issues with relevant parties.
