A meerkat family of seven made its debut on Wednesday in the Zhuyuwan Zoo in Yangzhou City, east China's Jiangsu Province.

With their adorable appearance, the meerkat has a huge fan community, especially thanks to the beloved character of Timon in Disney's "The Lion King", and for the overwhelming meerkat island in the film "Life of Pi".

Meerkats are experts in burrowing. They live in large underground networks in group of dozens. The group forages together with one guard staying vigilant.
