Namtso, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region
Namtso, which means "Heavenly Lake" in Tibetan, is located at an elevation of 4,718 meters above sea level. The turquoise water, snow-capped mountains, as well as open grassland dotted with yak herds and local nomads make it one of the most beautiful scenic spots in Tibet.

Many visitors and photographers stay beside the lake to view the stunning sunrises and sunsets at Namtso. When the sky changes colors, it imparts a distinctive charm to the already charming land.
The best time to visit is from June to September, as the weather is usually more temperate and there's a higher oxygen level. Note that there is no hotel at Namtso, so you'll have to stay at a campsite or find accommodations in the nearby county of Damxung.
