Kobe Chinese School, an international school in the Japanese city of Kobe, celebrated its 120th anniversary in May. It provides elementary and junior high school education from grades 1-9 with classes being taught in Japanese or Chinese depending on the subject. Most students are children of overseas Chinese people. They are also taught aspects of Chinese culture such as paper-cutting, Chinese cooking and Tai Chi.
The school says it aims to prepare students for Japanese society while keeping their Chinese cultural identity intact. CGTN reporter Zheng Yibing is at the school to explore its Chinese teaching classes.
