At least one person was killed and eight others injured in an attack that targeted the Abha International Airport in the southern province of Saudi Arabia on Sunday, the local news channel reported.

According to Al Arabiya TV, a Syrian resident was killed in an apparent drone attack that hit the parking area of the airport, wounding eight civilians.

On Saturday, the fighter jets of the Saudi-led alliance intercepted and destroyed two drones in the Yemeni air space.

The coalition said the drones were launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias from the Sanaa governorate.

On June 12, pro-Iran fighters targeted the Abha airport with a cruise missile that hit the arrivals hall and injured 26 civilians.
