China's fourth "forest oxygen bar" list, a reference to places with plenty of trees, was recently released. CGTN will be reviewing 10 of the 22 listed forest parks. Today, let’s visit the Wawushan National Forest Park in Meishan City of southwest China’s Sichuan Province.

Wawushan National Forest Park is 200 kilometers from Chengdu, the capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province. It is a natural reservoir with over 460 wild animals and 3,500 wild plants recorded in the region. The natural beauty and wildlife of the forest park attract tons of tourists.

“Wawu” means "tile-roofed house" in Chinese. Wawushan Mountain has a sloping terrain on the east and west sides. From afar, the mountain looks like a house made of gray tiles, hence the name "Wawushan Mountain."

The mountain area is known as one of the birthplaces of Taoism, making it rich in historical and cultural meaning.

Wawushan Mountain is the world’s second largest table mountain, reaching 3,522 meters at its highest peak. It table-like top measures 11 square kilometers. Chinese geological experts have described the table mountain as even more beautiful than the one in Cape Town, South Africa, which some have called “God's dining table.”

There are more than 70 waterfalls in the scenic area, among which the Lanxi, Yuanxi and Yangxi waterfalls are over 500 meters in height. The Lanxi Waterfall is the tallest, stretching upwards as high as 1,055 meters. It offers a stunning view with a thunderous roar in summer and turns into a spectacular fairyland when it freezes in winter.
