Located in Guizi Mountain in Nanjing City, east China's Jiangsu Province, is a special stone pillar forest.
It is estimated that there are 50,000 stone pillars in the "forest".
The densely- and orderly-clustered pillars have a diameter of about 50 centimeters, with a hexagon- or pentagon-shaped cross section.
First found in the 1980s, the landform was formed about 10 million years ago when the basalt magma cooled down after the volcano eruption.
