U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is organizing a conference in Manama, Bahrain to unveil the economic component of the U.S. peace plan. However, the timing of the conference is tricky. Israel is facing an unprecedented snap election campaign in September, which comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a governing coalition and dissolved parliament instead. Why is the U.S. pushing for them? Wang Jin, a research fellow at China's Northwest University, joined Global Watch and provided some insights.
