More than 300 macaques were seen having fun the Taihang mountains in north China’s Shanxi Province. Placed under second level of national protection in China, they live in large groups in the Shanliquan scenic spot in the Qinhe canyon, neighboring central China’s Henan Province. Male macaques fight to be the King of their group once a year. Experts say the Taihang macaque is the most evolved of its kind because it has long hair, a short tail and is good at imitation.
