China welcomes German companies to view it as a reliable trading partner and increase investment in the country, Chinese President Xi Jinping told German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday. Meeting with Merkel on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan's Osaka, Xi stressed that China's promises to widen opening-up are by no means "lip service."
