On June 27, 2019, the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (IDCPC) held a thematic session on the "Staying True to Our Founding Mission" Campaign of the CPC in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. This was the first time since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012 that the CPC had publicized the development of centralized inner-party education to foreign political parties. Nearly 50 representatives of foreign political parties from 19 countries attended.

Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC, spoke at the event. He said that 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and noted that over the past 70 years, China has made tremendous achievements in development, all under the leadership of the CPC. 

At present, the thematic session on the "Staying True to Our Founding Mission" Campaign of the CPC is carried out to ensure that the CPC will always maintain its progressiveness and purity, youth and vitality, win the support of the people and achieve long-term governance, Song added.

Noting that General Secretary Xi Jinping has clearly pointed out that the Communist Party of China is a party that seeks happiness for the Chinese people and strives for the cause of human progress, Song said the CPC is willing to work with political parties in other countries to promote party building through exchanges and mutual learning so as to bring more benefits to the people of all countries.

Somphan Phengkhammy, a member of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Party of Laos and vice president of the Laos National Assembly, and other foreign representatives made speeches respectively, saying that the CPC has always stayed true to its founding mission even after making such great achievements, which is particularly valuable and provides a very useful reference for political parties around the world in party building and risk handling. The representatives who participated are looking forward to further exchanging experiences with the CPC in party building and governance.
