Chinese President Xi Jinping called on BRICS members to expand cooperation amid the complex international situation. Xi made the remarks at an informal meeting of the BRICS leaders on the sidelines of the 14th Group of 20 (G20) summit. To further enhance BRICS cooperation, Xi put forward a three-point proposal. Firstly, he called on BRICS members to deepen strategic partnership. Secondly, Xi stressed BRICS countries should make joint efforts to improve global governance and uphold multilateralism. Thirdly, Xi called on BRICS members to enhance practical cooperation. The BRICS leaders discussed issues related to the G20 agenda, like the recent developments in economy, international financial system, energy transitions and the digital economy.
