Thousands of people headed to beaches across the UK on June 29 as temperatures soared. Many day-trippers made their way to Scarborough this weekend to make the most of the hot weather. Meanwhile, crowds of beachgoers went to Weymouth, a seaside town in Dorset, to escape the heat. Northolt and Heathrow saw highs of 34°C (93.2°F), making it Britain's hottest day of 2019 and one of the warmest June days in 40 years.
