In realism or abstractionism, they express the sculptors' ideas about the relationship between man and nature and convey their feelings towards life.
"Each of them is very particular, very special. I don't think there is a French style. There are many many French artists, very different from each of them. I think the most important meaning of the exhibition is to be able to strengthen the friendship between French people and Chinese people. The meaning is to be able to see, to show, and to watch on this culture as we are," said Jean-Yves Coquelin, Deputy Counsellor of the French Embassy in China.
Bringing China a glimpse of French contemporary sculpture art, the exhibition is one of the International Exchange Exhibition Series of the National Art Museum of China.

"Our museum has hosted China-France exchange exhibitions a few times in recent years. We brought our works to Paris and brought theirs back here. This exhibition not only gives us a better understanding of France's modern and contemporary art but through these works, we can see the artistic traditions and history rooted in them, which has influenced China's modern art since the last century," said Wu Weishan, Director of the National Art Museum of China.
The sculptures will be displayed to the public until July 9, before becoming permanent collections of the museum.
All the works being exhibited have been donated to the museum by the artists. They will bear eternal witness to China-France cultural exchange and the friendship between the two peoples.
