The Donkey Festival is rather peculiar in Colombia. Donkeys were paraded through the streets of the town wearing costumes as varied as a traditional hat and braids to shiny wings and pink stockings. Meanwhile, people are trying to compete to see who could best imitate a donkey's bray. The festival was meant to honor the rural farmers of the region who rely on donkeys for their daily work in the fields.
