Residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) rallied in support of the region's police after recent violence from protesters. People waved the Chinese national flags, chanting slogans to express their support. Clashes had broken out earlier this month between the authorities and demonstrators over a fugitive bill. Insults toward police officers and their families have also emerged online in recent days. Supporters say the Hong Kong police have made the region one of the world's safest places and that activities undermining the rule of law are intolerable.
