Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province recently adopted five collared scops owl chicks after they failed to trace their mother. After careful examination, the police and experts identified the birds as collared scops owls, which are under second-class national protection in China. As the mother of the owl chicks remains absent, the young birds are now being taken good care of by police officers.
