Sayram Lake, the largest and highest alpine lake in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, acts like a mirror of the blue sky.

In the Kazakh language, Sayram means "blessing" and the lake lives up to its name by being home to many rare and endangered wild animals and plants, including five species of birds under national first-class protection and 21 those under national second-class protection.

This year, the sky mirror is embellished with beautiful white swans. More than 100 swans are living and breeding here.

To keep the sky mirror blue and clean, the lake's administrative committee launched grazing ban and grassland restoration in the core area along the lake sides.

Currently, the vegetation coverage in the lake zone reached 95 percent, making it a more pleasant home for more animals.
