"The air conditioner saves my life every summer!" Many Chinese people joke about the intense heat on the internet. On July 3, north China's Hebei Province issued an extreme heat "red alert" as temperatures soared beyond 40 degrees Celsius in some regions. So, how do animals with thick fur, like giant pandas, flamingos and golden monkeys overcome the extreme heat? And, how is a family of four Asian elephants spending their summer holiday? CGTN is at a zoo in Shijiazhuang City to see how different animals prevent sunstroke in their own ways.
