First 25 companies to list on STAR Market, July 22
Updated 07:09, 06-Jul-2019

The first batch of companies to start trading on China's new STAR Market will make their debut on July 22, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) said in a press briefing on Friday.

According to the SSE, until now 141 listing applications have been received, and 118 companies have been issued with first round of inquiry letters. 31 companies won approval to list and 25 of them have obtained registration approval from the Securities Regulatory Commission.

These companies will conduct stress tests and business clearance tests on the trading system before listing. Appropriate investor management and education steps have been effectively promoted, while training courses for the secretaries of boards of directors of the listing companies have also been successfully held.

At this point, the preparatory work for the first batch of companies to start listing and trading is basically ready, said the SSE.

The STAR Market was launched last month.
