Two fires that broke out in a primeval forest in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Sunday have been put out following an overnight battle by hundreds of firefighters.
The twin fires were reported at around 11:15 a.m. Sunday in Xikouzi forest farm in the northern part of the Greater Khingan Mountains.
The fires were put out at around 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, and there's no report of any casualties yet.
Firefighters are now clearing embers in the area to prevent it from reigniting. The cause of the fires is being investigated.
