Ahead of his side’s much-anticipated Copa America final match against Peru, Brazil coach Tite addressed the rumors about his possible resignation from the job as he vowed to respect his contract regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s title clash at Maracana.

After being asked about his future ahead of the marquee final that will see Brazil aiming for a first major tournament victory in 12 years, Tite told journalists, “My contract is until 2022 and I'll be faithful to it.”

The 58-year-old’s assertion came after several media reports claiming that he was miffed with a number of his backroom employees having either left or will be leaving after the Latin America’s most prestigious international soccer competition.

Lashing out at those speculative reports, he said, “I don't believe criticism means you're against someone, criticism is having a different opinion. The only thing I question is wrong information. When you have a comment based on wrong information it's either due to a lack of competence or ill intentions.”

With his coaching career lasting almost 30 years, Tite mentioned that he’s still learning every day.

“I do have several flaws but the will to learn and observe is a virtue I have.”

The Brazilian on the hot seat of the country’s national football team also added, “When I was a player I really became a player when I played at the Maracana. Now I'm a coach I'll be coaching at the temple of world football.”

“I won't feel it as much as when I was a player but it will be hugely emotional, although nothing compares to the World Cup. The Copa America is big but it doesn't compare to the World Cup,” Tite explained.

Meanwhile, he took a direct dig at Argentine icon Lionel Messi’s allegations that the tournament is “set up” for Brazil’s win. “The two teams arrive at a moment, strengthened. Both teams deserve it. Tomorrow (Sunday) we'll see who deserves it more. It (victory) lies in the performance, in the game, on the field, the greater merit (to become champion),” Tite remarked.

Rebutting Messi’s conspiracy theory, the Brazilian quipped, "To play more, to play more... we have to be better than Peru, we have to be more qualified, competitive, loyal. Now there is no trickery (by Brazil), the trickery is at the discretion of the refereeing."
