Croatia is trying stop migrants intent on forcing their way into the country illegally on their way to Slovenia and finally Italy, which is pushing hard to slow the flow of illegal migrants headed there along the so-called "Balkans route." Patrols have been stepped up. The country is also threatening to build a fence along the border with Slovenia, which angers people on both sides.
