The CBA's Beijing Ducks have denied signing any contract with 33-year-old Ekpe Udoh and are currently in touch with multiple foreign players, reported Beijing News on Monday.

Earlier Eurohoops.net said that Udoh, former big man of the NBA's Utah Jazz, signed a one-year contract with the Ducks that will pay him the highest salary in the history of the Chinese basketball league.

Donovan Mitchell, Udoh's teammate at the Jazz, sent his congratulations on Twitter: "Big money!! Happy for you brotha ep!!"

Udoh was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the No. 6 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, before All-Star players Paul George and Gordon Hayward. However, his NBA career since then has been way more difficult than those of the other two. In the five seasons with the Warriors, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers, Udoh's best numbers were 5.7 points plus 4.7 rebounds per game.

After that, Udoh went to Turkey and joined the Fenerbahçe. In the two seasons there, he could drop an average of 12.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.8 assists, helping the team win two Turkish League championships and the EuroLeague title in 2017. Udoh himself was named EuroLeague Final Four MVP that year.

Udoh returned to the NBA in 2017 and played two seasons for the Jazz. However, he still did not get much time on the court. In the past 2018-19 season, he played 51 games for the team in which he only got 6.3 minutes to contribute 2.3 points and 1.8 rebounds on average.

Udoh's height of 2.08 meters and weight of 111 kilograms do not make a him a monster on the paint, but his quickness and 2.28-meter wingspan make him a good choice for protecting the rim and helping with defense.
