The U.S. State Department has approved the possible sale to Taiwan of M1A2T Abrams tanks, Stinger missiles and related equipment at an estimated value of 2.2 billion U.S. dollars, the Pentagon said on Monday. When the sale was first reported last month, China's Foreign Ministry said it was seriously concerned and urged the U.S. to stick to the one-China policy. It called on the U.S. to fully understand the extremely sensitive and damaging nature of their decision and change course to avoid further harming bilateral relations.
