The fourth stage of the Silk Way Rally headed into the Mongolian capital of Ulan Baatar on Wednesday as it continued its grueling 11-day journey from Irkutsk in Siberia to Dunhuang in northwest China.

Toyota's Nasser Al-Attiyah continued to dominate the car category after the Dakar title holder won his fourth stage on the trot. But, in the bikes, Russia's Anastasia Nifontova suffered a heavy crash before receiving medical treatment for a fractured collar bone.

Driving at break-neck speed on the dead, dry track, Al-Attiyah swallowed up the 470 kilometers at an almost unbelievable 120 kilometers per hour. His Toyota teammate Eric Van Loon grabbed second place.

In the trucks, the MAZ team got a historic triple. Despite a small scare, Siarhey Viazovich took his third stage win, with teammates Aleksandr Vasilevski and Aliaksei Vishnewski completing the day's podium.

In the bikes section, KTM's Sam Sunderland won the stage and was leading the overall rankings when Nifontova lost control, suffering a bad crash. She was immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment, where she was found to have fractured her collar bone.

The Team Husqvarna racer, however, blamed the breathtaking topography of the route and said, "I was so taken aback by the scenery and the route of the stage that I missed the 'Hole 3' mark in my roadbook. It was my own fault. In the middle of the road, there was a dip on the floor.

"Having only managed to slightly lift the bike, I hit the dip with the bottom of my bike and then it catapulted me into the air."
