Beijing Guoan continue to lead the standings following a 4-1 win over Chongqing Siwei at home on Wednesday, which maintain their five point lead over defending champions Shanghai SIPG and seven-time winners Guangzhou Evergrande.

Roger Schmidt's side conceded an early goal in three minutes when Adrian Mierzejewski's sliding pass found Kardec who wrong-footed Yu Dabao to score an opener for Chongqing.

Piao Cheng found the equalizer in the 39th minute with a header when substitute Jin Taiyan floated in a left cross.

The home side's high press forced Chongqing into several mistakes in the second half. Renato Augusto's penalty put Beijing 2-1 ahead and the Brazilian midfield quickly created another chance for teammate Viera, who converted a goal in the 64th minute to extend the lead to 3-1. Zhang Xizhe inked his name six minutes later by beating the goalkeeper from Viera's free kick.

The result means Beijing still lead the table with 45 points. The coach Roger Schmidt expressed his appreciation of the players.

"It's not an easy game. They (Chongqing) had a goal in their first attacking. We try to level the scoring and finally come from behind to finish a perfect win," said the German coach.

"Piao Cheng proved that he is one of the best players in Chinese Super League," he added.

With a big victory, Beijing Guoan maintain a record of all-time home wins in nine games this season. However, Schmidt admits the team still need to continue fighting for each point in the next games.

"We have to maintain this attitude to win."
