A start-up in Israel has developed a system that turns daily food waste into fuel for home cooking. Leftovers are placed in a tent-like contraption in which bacteria converts organic waste into clean bio-gas that can be used for home cooking, and this can all be done without electricity. Cooking with the system's bio-gas is said to help reduce carbon emissions of up to six tonnes a year.
