A breach in a dike caused by days of torrential rain in China's Hunan Province has been closed, thanks to round-the-clock repair work involving hundreds of people. Some 150 armed police officers were deployed to refill the embankment with sandbags and large machinery was used to replenish it with rocks. The breach resulted in flooding in Jiangjun Village, with more than 60 residents evacuated.
