How to avoid flashpoint conflicts?

The U.S. State Department has given its go-ahead to sell another 2.2 billion U.S. dollars worth of high-end American military tech and equipment, including M1A2T Abrams battle tanks and Stinger missiles to southeast China's island region Taiwan. China's Ministry of Foreign Affair has expressed serious condemnation and disagreement to the U.S. side, urging the United States to withdraw the sale to Taiwan.
