The Chinese men's national basketball team suffered a 30-point loss when losing to the Phoenix Suns 64-94 on Friday to close out their stay in the NBA Summer League and are heading home with one victory in five games.

China took a 4-0 lead in the first quarter as Zhao Rui and Zhai Xiaochuan both scored on layups. Phoenix players came from behind with stellar defense, however, grabbing a nine-point lead at the end of the period and turning their momentum into a 21-point halftime lead.

After the break, the Suns led by as many as 37 points. China struggled to fight back, even as Hu Jinqiu and Shen Zijie combined for six points to narrow the gap. China's star guard Guo Ailun played vigorously in an effort to turn the tide, including one successful shot from the 3-point line and two layups, but Phoenix controlled the game with a balanced offensive attack and great defense to seal the victory.

He added that he would take all factors into consideration while deciding the final squad list for the World Cup to be held August 31 to September 15 in China.
