China's Lian Junjie and Si Yajie won the gold medal in the mixed 10m synchro platform diving final at the FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea on Saturday.

It was China's first gold medal of the current championships.

The pair won with 346.14 points in five rounds.

Russia and Mexico won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Si was the first-ever winner of this non-Olympic event when she paired with Tai Xiaohu to win the maiden world-class competition at the 2015 championships in Russia.

Lian also won the event when teaming with Ren Qian two years later in Budapest.

The first gold medal of the current championships went to Kristov Rasovszky of Hungary, who won the men's 5km open water race in 53:22.1 earlier on Saturday.
